Azopt Information :
Uses :
Brinzolamide is used to treat glaucoma (open angle type) and other eye diseases (such as ocular hypertension) that cause high intraocular pressure. Reduced intraocular pressure aids in the prevention of blindness. This drug acts by reducing the volume of fluid in the eye. It is a member of the group of medications called carbonic anhydrase inhibitors.
Never use Azopt Opthalmic Suspension if the seal is broken before you use it for the first time. Before using it, wash your hands, and give the bottle a good shake. If you wear contacts, be sure to take them out before applying them and wait at least fifteen minutes before doing so again. Consult your doctor before stopping this medication. If not, your eye’s pressure won’t be regulated, which could harm your vision.
Precautions & Warnings :
Please let your doctor know if you have an allergy to brinzolamide or any other medication. It is not advised for children under the age of 18 to take brinzolamide. It is not recommended that you use brinzolamide if you have hyperchloraemic acidosis (excessive blood acidity), are pregnant, nursing, or suffer from serious kidney problems. Brinzolamide may discolor soft contact lenses, so it is recommended that you take them out before using it. Please contact your doctor right away if you experience any new eye problems, an eye infection, or allergic reactions like itching, redness, or rash on the skin. It is recommended that you wait five minutes between using Brinzolamide and other eye drops. To avoid contaminating Brinzolamide and causing eye infections, please avoid touching the tip of the container to the eye, eyelids, or any surrounding area.
